Kilcommon National School is a small country school with two classrooms. One classroom has children from Junior Infants to 2nd class and the other has children from 3rd to 6th class.
We teach the Primary school curriculum including the subjects of English, Irish, Mathematics, S.E.S.E. (Social, Environmental and Scientific Education – History, Geography, Science.) P.E. (Physical Education) Visual Arts, Music, Drama, S.P.H.E. (Social, Personal and Health Education) and Religious Education – Catholic “Grow in Love” programme.
Kilcommon NS is a co-educational primary school located in the beautiful scenery of the North Tipperary hills. We are a small school with two classrooms. One classroom has children from Junior Infants to 2nd class and the other has children from 3rd to 6th class. We have a shared support teacher and shared Principal Release Teacher. We have a full-time special needs assistant.
Our mission in Kilcommon N.S. is to cherish our pupils equally and, recognising the uniqueness of each child, work together to help them reach their full potential in all areas of the curriculum. We aim to be a warm and welcoming place that is respectful and accommodating of diversity. We work to prepare each and every pupil for life by promoting value and respect for all. We want our pupils to be happy here.
Kilcommon NS is a Catholic school under the Patronage of the Archbishop of Cashel and Emly. In accordance with our Catholic ethos, we work together to create a nurturing school community. We say prayers during the school day. We normally bring the children to Mass in the local church on First Fridays and Holy Days. We prepare children for the sacraments of First Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
Kilcommon NS also welcomes all children of all Faiths and none.
